My thanks to the beautiful design from Michelle Rago (www.michelleragoltd.com) and to the clients for an amazing, blustery weekend in Nantucket. Also a shout out to my assistant Michelle DuPuis who took the skull and crossbones on the last page it was a detail that was hard to photograph and I think she got it just right.

Arnold Newman

I got the new Annie Leibovitz book for Christmas. The photos and her thoughts of course are very inspirational but I had to nod with appreciation when she quoted Arnold Newman who famously said "photography is 1% talent and 99% moving furniture." How true, how true. I met Mr. Newman about a year before he passed away at a book signing at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Even at his advanced age he was flirty and commented on my new engagement ring, "ah," he said, "all the good ones are taken." Fun memory to have of such a legend.
